Touring in Ireland
Rugby is as big in Ireland as Guinness, and in fact the two generally go hand in hand!!
One of the original members of the 5 nations, the country established their RFU way back in 1874 and the first international match held in Ireland was against England back in 1875.
The famous Lansdowne Road ground is the nerve centre of the union and has been since it opened its doors. Dublin University, founded in 1854 was the first established rugby team in Ireland; the game was brought to the country by students who learnt the game in English public schools.

Limerick claims to be the capital of Irish rugby, even though Lansdowne is in Dublin. There is a special train service which runs to Dublin from Limerick on match days.
The passionate Irish rugby supporters are in a league of their own and graciously welcome visitors who share their love of the game. Ireland has busied itself getting the attractions that visitors want and need just right. All of this investment has enhanced the things Ireland already has in abundance, beautiful scenery and the friendliest people you'll find anywhere.
