Rugby tours & tournaments in South Africa

Touring in South Africa

South Africa is a sport-loving nation, the people have a great pride in their sporting achievements and rugby is no exception, the national team, the Springboks are giants in the world of rugby.

Ellis Park All nine provinces of South Africa have rugby teams and along side cricket, it is the national sport. South Africa is home to some impressive rugby venues, including the famous Ellis Park Stadium - the ground of the leading South African team The Gauteng Lions. In whatever province you stay there is the guarantee of a quality game of rugby and generally a good stadium to play it in.

Cape Town and the Western Cape is considered one of the most beautiful areas in the country, it's unique character stems from the cultural melting pot of Indonesian, French, Dutch, British and German settlers, plus the local Khoisan tribes and Bantu tribes from the north.

Part of this incredible vacation must include the famous Garden Route from Cape Town along the coast to Knysna. This unforgettable journey includes the chance to view Whales, Dolphins and Sharks in their natural habitat, go on safari in one of the game reserves, explore the Cango Caves and marvel at the unspoilt scenery, as well as stopping to play some competitive games of rugby on the way. The paternal presence of Table Mountain, the pristine coastline with its white sandy beaches, the magnificent country side with its bountiful rivers, together with the warm climate make South Africa perfect for a vacation. The abundance of rugby in the country makes it a famous centre for the sport and the passion the people have for the game makes South Africa the perfect place to take a touring rugby side.
