Touring in New Zealand
The Southern Hemisphere is world renowned for it's rugby giants and New Zealand is no exception. Ask some one with limited knowledge about the world of rugby to name a team and they are likely to mention the All Blacks. The sport was introduced to the country in its rawest form back in 1870 and by 1920 it was practically a national religion, and that's the way it has stayed.
Rugby is the national sport in New Zealand and by the end of 1890 there were already at least 700 teams formed. In 1892 the New Zealand Rugby Football Union was formed as the governing body for the game and since then has been host to teams from all corners of the world. The New Zealand teams have also done there fair share of travelling and have played in every major rugby country in the world as well as most of the minor ones - in short the country worships the sport.

With that history, is an explanation really needed as to why it's a great place to go on tour?
As a tourist New Zealand is just as appealing as it is to a rugby player, set in the beautiful South Pacific, with scenery so mystical that it provided the beautiful back drop to the recent blockbuster 'The Lord Of The Rings.'
The landscape is diverse, with a surprise around every corner, meaning that driving to the fixtures will be as enjoyable as playing them. Take in the sights of the vast bottomless lakes, impressive glaciers and steaming geothermal spots, or take a stroll around one of the many national parks, preserving nature as it is supposed to be untouched.
On the other end of the scale you may wish to visit one of New Zealand's exciting cities. Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, it is known as 'The City Of Sails' because of the hundreds of leisure craft floating around the bay.
The Bay Of Plenty on the east coast of the country in the Mount Maunganui area is one of the most popular holiday destinations in New Zealand; the never-ending sunshine means that there is an abundance of out door leisure activities all year round. An easy 3 hour drive form Auckland; it's a beautiful day excursion.
The cities of New Zealand are also a Mecca of night - life, what with everything that New Zealand has to offer by day and by night, as well as a guarantee of a class game of rugby, you'll never get bored in this dynamic country.
